Spring ShootoutThe Florida SWAT Association’s 2021 Spring Sniper Shootout was a very competitive event with 29 teams participating from all over the state of Florida. The bar was definitely set higher this year as all the competitors have worked hard over the last year to keep up their skill set while dealing with very extraordinary circumstances. It was evident from the individual and team scores that their hard work and dedication to their sniper training paid off. This year’s courses were very demanding and the accuracy they were able to maintain while running the shootout’s courses of fire is a testament to their resolve. CONGRATULATIONS go to Rob McCarty and Sam Wahnish, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, for taking the team win in the 2021 Spring Sniper Shootout! Second place team winners were J.P. Antepara and Brandon Rivera, Kissimmee Police Department; and third place team winners were Michael Buehler and Daniel Levanti, Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office. CONGRATULATIONS go to Bob Bernhardt, Lakeland Police Department, who took the honor of winning the Individual top sniper award. Sam Wahnish, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, took second place in the individual sniper event; and Rudy Danner, Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, took third place in the Individual sniper event. I would like to thank our amazing sponsors for their donations to our event. Without their support, this event would not have been possible:
I would also like to recognize the Orlando Police Department, Lakeland Police Department and the Orange County Sheriff's Office for their continued support in helping to make this year’s event live up to its reputation. I want to thank all the agencies that participated in this year’s sniper shootout. I look forward to seeing you throughout the year at our other great training courses and at next year's 2022 Spring Sniper Shootout! Stay safe and stay well!
