Cost $200

 This class will give an operator the basic knowledge and skills to properly utilize a ballistic shield during SWAT operations. Each student will be shown the proper way to shoot from behind a ballistic shield. Students will learn techniques and tactics used by shield operators to help protect their team during SWAT operations.

The instructors for this class are all current and prior shield operators for the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team. Alachua County SWAT has utilized ballistic shields on operations for over 25 years.  The instructors of this class have over 50 years of combined experience utilizing ballistic shields on operations as well as training others on the use of the ballistic shield.
